It has been an adventurous year for Karl Loxley from this years series of The Voice UK having been aired earlier this year to 9 million people on national television with his electrifying performances of 'Nessun Dorma' His operatic spin on the Elton John classic 'Your Song' and the unforgettable battle with Lucy O'Bryne as they performed 'Memory' from the musical Cats as well as many stage and concert performances around the UK. Now, Karl from Coventry  recorded his album with The Glasgow Philharmonia Orchestra. The album will feature many classic songs from 'Nessun Dorma' to his own original song 'Everything I Am' in which the idea to inspire his original writing came to him over a Japanese meal with 'Black Eyed Peas' star Will.I.Am.

Karl Loxley said:
“The inspirartion to start writing my own songs came to me after having a Japanese meal with my ex-mentor Will.I.Am. Will asked me if I wrote my own songs and I told him I'd never thought of the idea before in which he told me to start as there are not many classical-crossover artists writing new material”

“I am so excited to be recording my album with The Glasgow Philharmonia Orchestra. Ross Gunning founder of the Orchestra approached me with his passion for this style of music and I couldn't think of a better person to record these wonderful classical songs with.”

Taking Will.I.Am's advice Karl teamed up with his old school friend Ian Todd to collaborate on his new original writing. After performing 'Memory' from Cats on The Voice, Karl was stolen by Sir Tom Jones making the final 8 in his team. Recently The Voice UK have axed Sir Tom from the show replacing him with Boy George. We asked Karl how he felt about this.

“Getting to meet  Sir Tom and his family was an incredible experience I learnt so much from Him. He taught me a lot about breathing when singing and how to cope with the pressure of singing big songs. The Voice will not be the same without Sir Tom. I felt he had so much to give to all of the contestants he mentored”
